Sunday, March 18, 2007 >>>Continued. . .Throughout my days playing soccer. . . i've played left back, right back, left mid, right mid, striker, centre back. . . and recently, in the orange team, i've played at the centre midfield. . . the last few outings were disastrous, i wasn't a natural centre player, and i can only see myself screwing up at the centre. . . For a number times, i've told tat ming about this, that i can't play at the centre midfield position, but for some reasons he insisted that i stay there. . . Yesterday's match, however, may be the turning point for everything. . . My first half performance was a repetition of the past few matches, drifting too much to the left or right, leaving the centre midfield empty and deprived of supports. . . Everything was wrong except that i was doing my usual style, that kinda hardwork to run all over the pitch to help in defence and occasionally, attack. . . It was because of this, the excessive running that i couldn't last the entire 90minutes, pulling out at the last few moment with a muscle cramp. . . Magic took effect in the second half. . . With allister at the centre supporting, i suddenly felt myself becoming more effective. . . Running, attacking with much ease than before. . . It was during one of those run down the centre that i scored my first goal for the team. . . I haven't score a goal in matches for so long that i couldn't recall when was the last one. . . and that's not all, as i got more adjusted to the centre midfield position, i suddenly found myself more actively involved in the game. . . Passes to the wings, running at the defences, attempts on goal and contributing one penalty. . . It was quite a controversy actually, but no one cares as long as the referee award the easy scoring opportunity to you. . . It was thrilling encounter with the opponent, trailing 2-0 at half time, we managed a 5-4 win at the end of the second half, a miraculous come back. . . |
