Saturday, June 16, 2007 I'm slightly disappointed. . . It was my activity this time and only 6 of the kids turned up. . . what a let down. . .Nevertheless, even with only 6 of them, the programme still have to go on. . . It was a fathers' day activity and we were making burgers and buns to feed their fathers after a whole day of hard work. . . that was the highlight. . . they kinda enjoyed it. . . before that we did the norms like playing word games and drawings. . . with only 6 children, most of them shy and quiet, 4 were new, the entire programme just don't seem to get going. . . As hard as we tried, they were unresponsive. . . most of the time. . . i know them pretty well now, the few who came are those who speak less and appear less enthusiastic. . . but sometimes you can't help pondering whether you had done enough to make the entire thing more interactive and interesting so as to get their participation. . . After being there, witnessing the previous few events, i'm quite sure that today was one of the less successful ones. . . attributed mainly to the adsent of the more enthusiastic regulars and perhaps to a certain extent, ourselves. . . I'm really keen to plan more programmes for them, hope when my turn comes again the next time, there can be a better attendance, then i won't be able find excuses if it turned out like this again. . . |
